Software Configuration Management Engineer


The Control Systems Department in FMC is responsible for supplying control and monitoring systems to subsea installations for the production of oil and gas.

The core expertise represented by this department is managed by Control Core Technology, a multi-disciplinary, technically advanced group responsible for the development and maintenance of subsea products. We are in close contact with customers and provide expert assistance to supply projects.

We are looking for a resource to perform software configuration managment activities within FMC Kongsberg.  


Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Continuous improvement of the process for Configuration Management (CM) of software including configurations

  • Plan Configuration Management activities in SW projects

  • Work with and support software engineers on configuration management related aspects of the software development (including source code control, change handling and release management)

  • Version control of software and configurations from subcontractors

Qualifications and personal qualities 

  • Experience with software configuration management according to CMM/CMMI

  • Experience with software configuration management tools such as TFS, CVS or Clear Case.

  • English as working language

  • Structured and tidy, able to be creative and see solutions

  • Independent, enterprising, the ability to target results and to work well as part of a team
