Norconsult is the leading consulting engineering company in Norway with head office in Sandvika outside of Oslo. Through almost 80 years of experience, the company has built a strong reputation both in Norway as well as internationally. Norconsult has about 1650 planners, engineers, management consultants and supporting staff, is working within all infrastructure sectors and has more than 50 years of international experience from about 150 countries. A corner stone of Norconsult’s international business is consulting in power development, in particular hydropower and power transmission. The market for these services is expanding with the growing demand for renewable energy, particularly in the emerging markets where also a great potential for hydropower development exists. Based upon these trends and Norconsult’s international experience, the international growth strategy was formulated. The international Division was established early 2009 in order to execute the growth plans. The Division handles all the international business of Norconsult, including the management of major power projects in South-East Europe, South America, Southern Africa and Asia. The international Division wasinitially established with a small team of 30 highly skilled engineers and economists, and is now seeking additional talent to be based at the headquarter. Assignments will be international projects where the plan is to team up with local expertise to further strengthen Norconsult’s local presence, particularly within hydropower developments in Southern Africa, South-East Asia and Latin America.

Thereafter they will spend more and more time on site, and it may also result in an expatriate assignment during the most critical phases of the project. The Project Managers are expected to manage and lead the projects, provide leadership and interact with local authorities and partners. A part of the Project Managers role will also be marketing and business development of Norconsult’s operations.
